If you’re low income in Michigan, you can go to apply for the Food Stamps and other benefits program (MIBridges), which can help you save money on purchase of food items, health care, child care and more. If you’re approved by the program, each month your benefits are automatically deposited into the Bridge Card they assigned to you. Then you can use the card to buy food like an ATM card.
How to apply for MIBridges program:
You can visit the website www.Michigan.gov/mibridges to apply for the program online. If you do not currently have an active or pending benefits, begin by clicking on “Apply For Multiple Benefits” and follow the instructions to setup your new account. You can click on “Am I Eligible?” to check if you’re qualified to join the program.
If you have an active or pending case, click on “View My Case”, then follow the prompts to create a new user ID. Once you register, you can login the website to check your Bridge Card balance and report your changes online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How to use Michigan EBT Bridge Card:
It is a debit card that you can use to get your assistance benefits. You may use your card to withdraw cash benefits at any ATM with the Quest sign. You cannot get cash from your food benefit account. You can make up to four withdrawals a month without having to pay a transaction fee. You will have to pay a transaction fee for each ATM withdrawal after the fourth one in a month. Please note, food and cash benefits unused for a year will be returned to the State or Federal government.
